What is LinkedIn and how will it help my business?

LinkedIn is a network of professionals in all types of employment. It is ideal for business to business (B2B) networking, and once you are established there's a good chance that is will generate good quality leads. You will build up a number of connections, get recommended by people who have used your services, and join groups of people with a similar interest. As well as a personal profile you can also set up a company page.

Like all social media you will need to work at it to make it successful. Writing good quality posts on a regular basis and developing your contacts will gradually build a group of loyal followers.

The next step will be establishing yourself as an expert in your field by joining - and starting - discussions, answering questions and starting your own LinkedIn group. We'll guide you through all of this including making suggestions for topics and helping you write them.

Going further with LinkedIn

When you're an established LinkedIn business networker we'll work with you to use LinkedIn for surveys or polls, making presentations available using Slideshare, and analysing the impact of your LinkedIn business profile by checking the number of people viewing your profile and how many are being directed to your website.
